The Horizon EX59 was rated Treadmill Doctor’s Best Buy Runner Up for 2012, and even though he’s the “Treadmill Doctor”, let’s just say he knows his stuff. So right off the bat we can see this elliptical is going to be a great purchase.
For only $629.99 you do get quite a bit of features. The Horizon EX59 comes with 10 different levels of resistance as well as 10 different programming options. The programs including 3 targets such as time, distance and calories, 3 workouts such as hills, weight loss and reverse train to target those glutes, it also comes with one custom workout so you can be sure you have a workout program to fit your needs.
This elliptical was not only made for the user to be able to see results, but for comfort as well. It comes with the ZEROgap overlapping pedal motion so there is zero distance between the pedals to help eliminate stress on your hips and back, this is a big feature to look for when looking for an elliptical. When the pedals are off a little distance it can causes unevenness between your hips, this could result in unnecessary stress and damage to hip joints.
It also comes with Sonic Surround speakers that allow you to plug in your MP3 and give you that music motivational boost we all need from time to time, yet I do wish it was iPod or iPhone adaptable, as that is what most of us use these days. A built-in COOLfit fan is also included to help you stay cool and fight fatigue during your workouts.
Overall I’d have to agree with Treadmill Doctor and say this is a great elliptical for its price. You may be able to find elliptical machines with more specs and features, yet that will surely come at a cost.
