Interval Training:
Interval training is a method that can be performed on an elliptical trainer and benefits weight loss enthusiasts. The person will get on the trainer and pedal at a moderate pace. When the person pedals he focuses on the breathing pattern and muscle movement. The person will continue this pace for a minute, and then he will pedal faster. He will pedal faster for one full minute, or 30 seconds depending on the fitness level. Once he pedals fast for a designated amount of time, he will again pedal slower for a minute. The person will continue to repeat this method for 20 to 30 minutes. People who have just started working out can perform the exercise for 10-15 minutes, instead of 20-30 minutes. Check out All About Interval Training to learn more about interval training and all of the many benefits it offers.

Steady Pace:
Interval training is a fun and exciting way to lose weight, but many people also enjoy working out for longer periods on the elliptical trainer while using a steady pace. A steady pace is also a great way to fitness enthusiasts to lose weight. The person will just get on the elliptical trainer and ride at a comfortable pace. The stride will usually last between 30 and 60 minutes. More advanced workout enthusiasts will train for up to 60 minutes while beginners might train for only 20 minutes. The person should always keep track of how long they ride the elliptical and always try to maintain their pace for a longer duration. The steady state rides on the trainer will burn body fat, increase lean muscles and improve heart health.

Rotation Training:
Steady state and interval training both are great methods for people to lose weight. Rotation training is a method in which both steady state and interval training is performed in the same session. An example would be to have a person ride at a steady pace for 10 minutes. Following the 10 minutes he will start performing interval training for 10 minutes. Following the interval training, he will go back to performing steady state.
